Steve Heinecke and Sock Inc. Sponsor Inaugural Deeridge Derby Weekend

Wellington, Fla. – March 2, 2017 – The breathtaking and expansive Deeridge Farms estate, located in Wellington, Florida, is the ideal venue for the annual Palm Beach Masters, which ran this year from Feb. 2–5, and the world-class show jumping event was nothing short of a major success.

Now, the Jacobs family and Deeridge Farms have kicked off their brand-new event taking place March 1–5, the Deeridge Derby Weekend, presented by the National Horse Show Association of America, Ltd. for the benefit of the USHJA Foundation. Steve Heinecke and his first-class operation, Sock Inc., are proud to support this inaugural competition, showcasing the world’s greatest athletes in a setting that couldn’t be more perfect to highlight the grace and beauty of the sport of hunters.

Heinecke, a world-renowned hunter rider, trainer and judge, is proud to be a part of this all-new show as a dedicated sponsor. Located directly outside of Charlotte, North Carolina, at Robindale Farm, Heinecke’s Sock Inc. is a premier hunter, jumper and equitation training operation that caters to riders of all levels. Sock Inc. is well-known in the industry for producing top-quality horses and riders, while instilling a high standard of professionalism and developing horsemanship skills.

Heinecke is looking forward to the hunters taking center stage at Deeridge Farms this upcoming weekend, starting on Friday, March 3. The highly-anticipated five-day event will bring together some of the most decorated hunter horses and show jumpers in the country to vie head-to-head for top prize money at an exquisite venue — all leading up to Sunday’s main event: the $50,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby.

The $5,000 3′ Deeridge Hunter Derby, presented by Sock Inc., will take place on Saturday, March 4, at 10 a.m. on the Hollow Brook Wealth Management Grand Prix Field. The class will be executed in the same format as a traditional hunter derby, with the first round taking place over a classic, hunter-style course. The top 12 horse-and-rider pairs from the initial round will return for a second trip to ride their handy rounds.
