Sixth Year for Partnership with Rood and Riddle and the CP National Horse Show

Lexington, KY – July 12, 2016 –  The CP National Horse Show is pleased to announce that Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital has, for the sixth straight year, been named the Official Veterinarians, Farriers and the Official Veterinary Pharmacy for this year’s event, scheduled for the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky on November 1-6, 2016.

Lexington-based Rood & Riddle is a full-service equine hospital established in 1986 as a referral center for horses requiring specialized medical and surgical care. Today, Rood & Riddle is known and respected throughout the world for its innovative and highly skilled treatment of horses and has expanded operations to include Saratoga Springs, NY and a soon-to-be full service facility in the winter horse capital of the world, Wellington, Florida.
Rood & Riddle CEO Bill Rood said, “Rood & Riddle is very pleased to establish a hospital presence in Wellington, which is a major center for sport horse activities. Our mission has always been to provide the best care for our clients and patients wherever they are. Wellington is a focal point for sport horse activities and in addition, is conveniently located to major Thoroughbred and Standardbred training centers and racetracks. The addition of the Wellington property will allow us to better serve our many clients who compete in Florida every year, both with sport horses and in racing.”
“We are excited to expand our services to the Wellington area. This will allow us to better serve our sport horse and racing clients in South Florida,” said managing partner Scott Pierce, DVM. Rood & Riddle in Wellington is located at 5320 S. Shore Blvd. Wellington, FL 33449
The hospital facilities at Rood & Riddle offer a full range of services including surgery, internal medicine, advanced diagnostic imaging, a focused Podiatry Center and a specialized Reproductive Center. The practice also provides ambulatory services (on-site care) for breeding farms, sport horse facilities, horse shows and events, with a variety of services, including emergency and preventative care, general reproduction, lameness, radiography, podiatry, and internal medicine.
Dr. Bill Rood and Dr. Tom Riddle formed a partnership in 1982 and four years later expanded their successful ambulatory practice by opening Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital. Today, Rood & Riddle is owned by 23 shareholders and includes over 60 veterinarians, including specialists that hold board certifications in surgery, internal medicine, theriogenology, veterinary practice (equine) and ophthalmology.
“Rood and Riddle is very pleased to continue our partnership with the National Horse Show as the Official Veterinarians and Farriers and as the Official Veterinary Pharmacy,” Dr. Riddle said. “We are excited to be affiliated with such a prestigious equine event and we are delighted that the National Horse Show has made its home at the Kentucky Horse Park.”
“We are so honored to welcome back Rood and Riddle for a sixth year at the CP National Horse Show,” said National Horse Show Association President Mason Phelps, Jr. “As I’ve said in the past, we are very lucky to have one of the finest veterinary facilities in the world available close-by and always on call for our world-class competitors at the CP National Horse Show.”
In addition to services provided in Kentucky, the Rood & Riddle sport horse veterinarians and podiatrists provide services in Wellington each winter and travel regularly to competitions throughout the eastern United States, including the Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital in Saratoga Springs, NY., located less than a mile from exit 14 off of I-87. They are situated close to one of the country’s most historic racetracks and are easily accessible from the Northway. The doctors provide ambulatory veterinary service and accept referral surgical and medical cases from the New York, New England area.
