Experience Daily Social Events Alongside World-Class Competition During the Lexington Spring Festival

Lexington, VA – April 26, 2017 – Whether you are a spectator or exhibitor, every day during the Lexington Spring Festival will be filled with a variety of activities to make your time at Virginia Horse Center memorable. Both the Spring Premiere and Spring Encore have an exciting lineup of parties to ensure guests feel right at home.

To kick off the Lexington Spring Premiere on Wednesday, April 26, there will be a Welcome Party sponsored by Markel Insurance in the Hospitality Center from 5:00-7:00 PM. On Thursday, April 27, there will be a Potato Bazaar sponsored by the families of the Breckenridge Manor also from 5:00-7:00 PM. Midway through at 6:00 PM the Joint Zone 3 Hunter/Jumper Forum will be held in the Cashvan Tent.

Home of the Lexington Spring Festival

With the USHJA National Hunter Derby happening on Friday, April 28, Virginia Horse Center will host a Wine and Cheese party in honor of exhibitors competing in this class. Sponsored by Alan and Jessi Lohman, the party will begin at 4:30 PM and run until the end of the derby.

On the final day of the Premiere, Saturday, April 29, the “Molto Bene Pasta Party” will conclude the weekly festivities. This event will be held in the concourse party area from 6:15 PM until the end of the $30,000 Rockbridge Grand Prix and is sponsored by Daisy Field, Inc. & Mr. and Mrs. Paul Matthews and Colliers Creek, LLC and Gordon Reistrup.

Dedicated show grooms play an integral role in the competition process and Virginia Horse Center wants to recognize all their efforts and hard work behind the scenes. The evening before the start of the Lexington Spring Encore, Tuesday, May 2 at 6 PM, VHC will host a Grooms’ Party sponsored by the families of Orange Hill.

Events will continue daily throughout the Spring Encore week, beginning with a Welcome Party sponsored by Markel Insurance on Wednesday, May 3. Rolling Acres Show Stable is sponsoring a “Surprise Party” on Thursday, May 4 in the Hospitality Center from 5:00-7:00 PM.

To celebrate the holiday and in honor of exhibitors participating in the VHC Hunter Classic, there will be a Cinco de Mayo party Friday, May 5 in the Hospitality Center from 4:30 PM until the end of the Classic. VHC would like to thank Vineyard Haven, Tracey and Tom Brennan, Tony Workman, and Winter Hill Farm for making this event possible.

With the first Saturday in May falling on the final day of the Encore, guests can witness all the action of the 143rd annual run for the roses prior to the $30,000 George L. Ohrstrom, Jr. Grand Prix. The Kentucky Derby party will begin at post time and run until the end of the Grand Prix, inviting guests into the Concourse party area for mint juleps while they watch the race on a big screen TV. Lauren Peterson and the Peterson Family Foundation are the generous sponsors of the finale party.
