The project originally was conceived in 1999. Since The Black Stallion Literacy Foundation (BSLF) began serving children in 2000, more than 600,000 children across the United States have participated in the reading programs.
Horses Healing Hearts, Inc.
Horses Healing Hearts is a 501c3 charitable organization designed to help children in families suffering from substance abuse. Through the magnificence of the human and horse relationship, the kids are taught about responsibility and confidence. Flettrich, 37, is based in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, and Wellington, Florida, where he operates his training and showing business. An accomplished competitor, Flettrich has earned his United States Dressage Federation (USDF) Silver and Gold Medals. He is also a graduate of the USDF ‘L’ (Learner) Judge Program. Currently competing in Europe, Flettrich will make his bid in Florida this winter for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games Selection Trials.
